Mitchell E. Miller, AIA, NCARB (Principal of the Corporation) Licensed as an architect since 1987, and with over 40 years experience, Mitch has been designing custom single-family homes primarily in Southeast Florida and the Bahamas. His primary role in the company is Client Contact, Design, and Marketing. Mitch enjoys playing pickleball, riding his skateboard, and each year he creates a one-of-a-kind Christmas ornament.
Chris Andrus, AIA (Partner & Project Architect) Chris Andrus holds a Bachelor of Design degree in Architecture and a Minor in Urban Regional Planning from the University of Florida, where he graduated in 2005. He subsequently pursued his Master of Architecture at UF and graduated in 2007. During his time at UF, Chris interned at Village Architects from 2004 to 2007 during his summer and winter breaks. Chris rejoined the firm as a full-time employee in 2010. In 2024, he was promoted to partner. Chris’s responsibilities include CAD guru, project development, construction documents, product selection, 3D modeling, rendering, photoshopping, and contractor coordination. Outside of work, Chris enjoys being a dog dad, smoking meat on his Traeger, traveling the world, fly fishing and watching sports, particularly the Florida Gators.
Sam H. Miller, AIA (Partner & Project Architect) Sam grew up locally within Tequesta and started working for the firm periodically during high school summer breaks. He decided to pursue architecture at the University of Florida while continuing to work in the office during semester breaks. After a few too many late nights in studio, he received his Bachelor of Design from UF (2014), Master of Architecture from UF (2018), and license (2021). Sam’s role within the office is design development, client and contractor contact, and construction documents. In 2024, he was promoted to partner. Sam enjoys surfing, mountain biking, traveling with his wife, and watching the Florida Gators (despite their special knack to perpetually disappoint).
Margarita Nielsen-Palacios, AIA, LEED AP BD+C (Project Architect) Licensed as an architect in Florida since 1996, is a graduate of Universidad Simón Bolívar, Caracas, Venezuela, and a LEED accredited professional since 2009. She brings great value to Village Architects by blending her artistic talent with architectural expertise. Her designs combine functionality with beauty, creating spaces and building exteriors that are both practical and visually inspiring. With experience in residential and commercial projects, she focuses on designs that meet clients' needs while maintaining a timeless style. Margarita’s background in fine art plays a key role in her architectural work. Her skills in drawing and painting help her develop creative designs and communicate ideas clearly. This artistic influence gives her projects a unique character and attention to detail that sets them apart. As Margarita plans for retirement, she looks forward to transitioning to a full-time fine art career. Her passion for art will continue to thrive as she shifts from designing buildings to creating artwork that inspires and connects with people in new and meaningful ways.
Brooke Albrecht (Accounting & Office Manager) Brooke graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She has over 20 years of accounting and payroll experience and manages the daily office responsibilities. Brooke enjoys spending time with her husband and family and absolutely loves animals (especially dogs)!
